About the creators: Miranda Esmonde-White
Following her career as a professional ballerina, Miranda developed the technique behind the ESSENTRICS workout, which led to her becoming the flexibility trainer and consultant to numerous professional and Olympic athletes and celebrities. Miranda Esmonde-White is one of America’s greatest advocates and educators of healthy aging. Her PBS fitness show Classical Stretch, which is based on the same technique as ESSENTRICS, has been aired since 1999 and is rated the #1 fitness show on the network.
Miranda’s book, Aging Backwards has a revolutionary vision on the role fitness plays in slowing down the aging process while keeping our bodies young, energetic, strong and healthy. Based in Montreal, Miranda continues to develop the technique. She works closely together with scientists and specialists in the medical field, Miranda gives lectures, Teacher Training workshops and fitness breaks all over the world.
About the creators: Sahra Esmonde-White
Sahra Esmonde-White is co-owner and CEO of ESSENTRICS and host of the ESSENTRICS DVD Series. She is one of the top health experts in Canada and her DVDs have won “Top Workout” awards in various countries. She works closely with celebrities such as UK model/actress/entrepreneur Lily Cole, Canadian actress Sarah Gadon, and professional athletes including the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens. With a Master’s degree in Economics and graduate studies in Public Health, Sahra has made it her life’s mission to help people lead healthy lives through intelligent fitness and a thoughtful lifestyle.
European Master Trainer: Danielle de Wildt
When ESSENTRICS Master Trainer Danielle de Wildt discovered the technique she immediately fell in love with it. The respectful and effective way, in which the workout helped her to get rid of shoulder pain, improve her posture and regain strength, led her to become the first ESSENTRICS teacher in Europe.
The ESSENTRICS creators in Montreal trained her and Danielle started teaching ESSENTRICS classes in her native Netherlands where the workout quickly gained popularity. Danielle is an ESSENTRICS Master Trainer and the head of ESSENTRICS in Europe.
